**Travel fellowships for students
- IPRRS offers travel fellowships to young researchers (i.e. graduate students or early-career postdoctoral fellows) who are attending the symposium.
- To be eligible, you must be the presenting author of an abstract.
- To apply, indicate it during the registration process. Once you have registered, please send us a short CV with your contact details, along with a one-page letter explaining why you are interested in the fellowship and what your career goals are. Please also indicate the reference number of your abstract. These documents must be sent to enric.mateu@uab.cat. Please indicate the reference number of your abstract in the title of the email: ‘IPRRS fellowship’. Proof of your status can be requested.

- Olivia Balmes Hotel (4*) – In the Heart of Barcelona: Located in downtown Barcelona, this option allows you to enjoy the atmosphere and lifestyle of the capital after the working sessions. It is connected to the congress venue from the nearby Provença train station (1 minute walking). The journey from Provença to the venue (Bellaterra station) takes about 35 minutes
- Catalonia Gran Hotel Verdi – Sabadell (4*) – Comfort in Sabadell:* Located in the main commercial area of Sabadell, this hotel is surrounded by local shops and restaurants. It offers a quick connection to the congress venue (Exe Campus) from the Sabadell Plaça Major train station (7 minutes walking), with a journey to Bellaterra of only 10 minutes. By using the code “Congreso Bocemtium”, guests can benefit from a reduced rate.
- Holiday Inn Barcelona – Sant Cugat – Convenience Close to the Venue: Located in the Sant Cugat area, this hotel offers a comfortable stay close to the congress venue. It is approximately 11 minutes by taxi from Hotel Exe Campus, where the congress will take place.
- B&B HOTEL Barcelona Sant Cugat – Practical and Affordable: A modern and functional hotel offering excellent value for money, conveniently located near the congress venue. It is approximately 11 minutes by taxi from Hotel Exe Campus, where the congress will be take place.
- Hotel Exe Parc del Vallès – SanCugat (4*)– Close to the Congress Venue: Located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, this hotel offers a comfortable stay just a short distance from the congress venue. It is approximately 8 minutes by taxi from Hotel Exe Campus, making it a convenient option for attendees.
Visa Information & Support Letters
If you require a visa to travel to Spain to attend IPRRS 2026, we highly recommend initiating your application process as early as possible. Schengen visa appointments and processing times can take several weeks or months depending on your local embassy or consulate.
Requirements to Request an Invitation Letter
To avoid misuse of official documents and to ensure a secure, compliant, and transparent process, Invitation Letters will only be issued when all the following conditions are met:
- Completed Registration: The applicant must have completed the official conference registration and paid the full registration fee. No provisional letters or pre-payment letters will be issued.
- Valid Passport: The applicant must provide a clear scan of their passport, which must remain valid throughout the travel period and for at least six months beyond the conference dates.
- Personal Contact Details: The applicant must provide their full postal address, telephone number, email address, institutional affiliation, and country of residence.
- Purpose of Travel: The Invitation Letter is issued solely to support participation in the International Symposium on PRRS and Other Viral Diseases of Swine (IPRRS 2026) in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona), Spain. It does not imply any financial commitment or guarantee of visa approval.
Important Notes and Limitations
The Invitation Letter:
- Does not cover or imply any responsibility for travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, or personal expenses unless explicitly agreed upon in writing for invited speakers.
- Does not cover visa fees, administrative charges, or consular decisions.
- Does not guarantee the issuance of a visa by the Spanish Embassy or Consulate.
- Does not imply acceptance of any abstract, poster, or oral communication; all scientific contributions are subject to independent review and selection by the Scientific Committee.
- Becomes automatically void if the participant cancels their registration or if the registration is revoked for any reason.
All visa-related arrangements, costs, and decisions remain the sole responsibility of the applicant.
How to Request an Invitation Letter
Once your registration and payment have been completed:
- Send an email to iprrs@bocemtium.com with the subject line: “Invitation Letter Request – IPRRS 2026”.
- Attach the following details and files:
- Clear passport scan (PDF or JPG format).
- Full personal contact details (postal address, phone, email, affiliation, and country of residence).
- Registration confirmation number or official proof of payment.
- Accepted Abstract Title and Submission ID (if applicable).
- Any specific wording or details required by your local Spanish Consulate.
Our team will verify your information and registration status, and issue the official signed Invitation Letter by email in PDF format.
Verification by Consular Authorities
Consulates or Embassies may contact the Organizing Committee or the Technical Secretariat (bocemtium) directly to confirm the validity of the invitation letter or the participant’s registration status. We will respond directly to official authorities to verify and authenticate the documentation provided.
