Scope
IPRRS will only accept abstracts addressing various aspects of Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) and PRRSV infections or addressing other viral diseases of swine. Only original research is accepted, studies that have been published or presented elsewhere before are not acceptable.
Submission guidelines
Abstracts can be submitted only through the website application. Abstracts sent by any other mean will not be considered.
Abstracts must be written in English
Maximum 500 words per abstract
Maximum title length: 30 words
All abstracts must be structured in the following sections: Introduction and objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion and conclusions. Conflicts of interest and ethics statements must be included in the submission.
Tables and figures are not allowed.
During submission authors will be requested to grant permission to the organisation to distribute the abstract in the proceedings or by other means.
Topics
Abstracts must be submitted indicating the section and subsection. There are two main topics: 1) PRRS and 2) Other viral diseases. Within each section, subsections will be considered:
- Virus diversity and evolution
- Pathogenesis and viral replication
- Epidemiology
- Immunology and vaccinology
- Diagnostics
- Control and eradication
- Other topics
Reallocation of an abstract into a different section can be recommended by the scientific committee.
Type of presentations
Three types of submissions will be considered:
- Oral presentations
- Poster
- Poster presentation with Flash talk
Authorship
Unless specified, the submitting author will be the presenting author.
Evaluation
Each abstract will be independently evaluated by two reviewers of the Scientific Committee. Acceptance will be based on the scores received. Similarly, the selection of oral presentations and flash talks will be based on the score obtained. Abstracts can be resent to the authors for correction based on the recommendations of the reviewers. All communications will be maintained solely with the author who submitted the work.
